Buy light rosé wines for mild summer evenings
The rosé wine has become very popular in recent years, especially as a summer wine. It is a mostly uncomplicated wine that can be enjoyed on many occasions and is very popular as a versatile drink. You can drink rosé wines for dinner, during a break on the beach, in a bar or simply as an accompaniment to cozy hours on the terrace.
Order rosé wine by country and region
We sell our rosé from three different countries:
• France • Italy • Austria
It is made from red grape varieties such as Barbera, Merlot, Pinot Noir or Syrah and is available in different price ranges. You can use the filters to choose whether you want to buy an everyday wine for up to € 20.00 or a higher-priced rosé wine as a gift for various occasions.
Which dishes is best drunk with rosé wine?
The light wine goes well with Mediterranean dishes, tapas or grilled vegetables. It tastes best slightly chilled. However, if it is cooled too much, the flavors will block. If the drinking temperature is too warm, the freshness and liveliness are lost. The ideal drinking temperature for a rosé wine is between 10 and 14 ° C. Pay attention to the recommendations of the winemaker.
How is rosé wine actually made?
The rosé is made from red wine grapes. This wine gets its elegant coloring from the reddish color pigments in the skin of the red wine grapes. In contrast to red wine production, with rosé the skins of the grapes are fermented together with the juice. This is also known as mash fermentation. After a few hours, the peels are then separated from the juice. In red wine production, this process often takes several weeks, so that more color can settle and the red wine gets its typical red color. In the end, the maceration time depends crucially on the grape variety. With some varieties a few minutes are enough, others take up to three days to achieve the desired color result.
Further production processes for the rosé wine
• Direct pressing
Some winemakers produce the rosé wine in such a way that they squeeze the red grapes directly instead of bringing the skins into contact with the must for some time. The result of this method is a very light wine, as very little color pigments and aromas are extracted from the wine.
• Saignée method
The term "Saignée" comes from French and means "to bleed". If the winemaker decides to do this, he puts the peel of the berries together with the must in a tank. The red peels then literally bleed into the liquid and give it its typical color. From time to time the mash is not removed, but the winemaker regularly drains part of the liquid that is sold as rosé wine. The rest stays in the tank and turns into a strong red wine.
Rosé wines stand for uncomplicated enjoyment
Even if there are very complex and profound rosé wines, the majority of these wines stand for light, uncomplicated enjoyment. Rosé wines are fruity and light and are usually drunk young. This makes rosé a perfect match for summer and is easy to enjoy. The most common aromas found in rosé include fruits such as strawberry, raspberry, red currant, pomegranate and grapefruit.
