There is a good reason why Lugana wines are becoming increasingly popular with connoisseurs.
The wine-growing region of the same name in the north of Italy is located directly on Lake Garda, where optimal
climatic conditions for cultivation prevail. Only those wines are allowed to bear the
protected designation of origin Lugana DOC, which are made from grapes of the Trebbiano variety.
This very special wine comes from the exceptional Cá dei Frati winery, one of the most important producers in the region.
It shines in crystal-clear and pale yellow nuances and develops spicy and floral aromas on the nose.
On the palate, it reveals hints of apricots and almonds.
At the same time, it retains a fine spiciness and shows a long-lasting finish.
This dry white wine goes very well with grilled fish, seafood and salad.
It is also popular and appreciated as an aperitif.

Ca' dei Frati is a prominent winery located on the southern shores of Lake Garda in the Lombardy region of Italy. Established in 1939, the winery has a rich history that dates back to the late 18th century when the property was originally run by monks, hence the name "Ca' dei Frati," which means "House of the Friars." Over the years, the Dal Cero family, who took over the estate in the early 20th century, transformed it into one of Italy's most respected and innovative wine producers.

Lugana is the pearl of Ca dei Frati production

The winery is best known for its Lugana wines, made from the Turbiana grape, which thrives in the unique microclimate and clay-rich soils of the region. Ca' dei Frati’s flagship wine, Lugana I Frati, is celebrated for its freshness, vibrant acidity, and delicate floral and citrus aromas, making it a favorite among white wine enthusiasts. The winery has played a crucial role in elevating the status of Lugana DOC, helping to establish it as one of Italy's premier white wine appellations.

In addition to Lugana, Ca' dei Frati produces a range of other wines, including Chiaretto, a rosé made from local red grape varieties, and Amarone della Valpolicella, showcasing the versatility of the winery. The estate also crafts sparkling wines using the traditional method, which have gained recognition for their finesse and elegance. The Dal Cero family’s commitment to quality is evident in every aspect of production, from the vineyard to the cellar.

Hard work that will not go unnoticed

Sustainability is a key focus at Ca' dei Frati, with the winery implementing environmentally friendly practices to preserve the health of the vineyards and surrounding landscape. This includes minimizing the use of chemicals, promoting biodiversity, and employing energy-efficient technologies in the winemaking process. The winery’s modern facilities are designed to respect tradition while incorporating advanced techniques to ensure the highest standards of wine production.

Ca' dei Frati’s wines have earned numerous accolades and awards, both in Italy and internationally, cementing the winery’s reputation as a leader in the Italian wine industry. The Lugana I Frati, in particular, is often regarded as a benchmark for the region, praised for its balance, complexity, and aging potential. The winery’s dedication to preserving the distinctiveness of the Turbiana grape and its terroir is a driving force behind its success.

The Dal Cero family, now in its fourth generation, continues to uphold the legacy of Ca' dei Frati, blending tradition with innovation to produce wines that express the unique characteristics of their terroir. Visitors to the estate can enjoy guided tours and tastings, experiencing firsthand the beauty of the Lake Garda region and the passion behind the wines. The winery’s picturesque location, with views of the lake and surrounding vineyards, adds to the charm of the Ca' dei Frati experience.

Overall, Ca' dei Frati stands as a symbol of excellence in Italian winemaking, with a strong commitment to quality, sustainability, and the expression of its unique terroir. Through their wines, the Dal Cero family continues to share the story of their land, their history, and their dedication to the art of winemaking.
