Fratelli Cavallotto – Tenuta vitivinicola Bricco Boschis, via Alba-Monforte, 12060 Bricco Boschis - Castiglione Falletto (CN), Italy
The Cavallotto winery can look back on a long and eventful history. The TENUTA BRICCO BOSCHIS estate in Alba has belonged to the family since 1928 and the first bottling took place in 1948. Today, the Cavallotto estate is managed by the fourth generation.
25 hectares of vineyards and organic farming methods
The Cavallotto family cultivates a total of 25 hectares of vineyards that form a contiguous area. Management is based on an integrated agricultural concept with organic cultivation methods. Since the first bottle, the bottling and production of the wines has been carried out exclusively under the family's own label and from their own grapes. This concept has made a significant contribution to the fact that the Bricco Boschis brand is now a synonym for quality.
Vine cultivation with respect for nature
The vines are cultivated in the Cavallotto winery with a great deal Respect and in harmony with nature. Native grasses grow between the vines, which form a first-class humus and provide the soil with nutrients and moisture. All work is done exclusively by hand.
Best climatic conditions for the growth of the grapes
The vines grow in an excellent microclimate. Summers are hot and dry with average temperatures of 26°C. The winters, on the other hand, are snowy and cold and in autumn and spring the grapes adapt to the very mild temperatures.
The cultivation of Nebbiolo grapes accounts for half of the wine production
About half of the Cavallotto vineyards are planted with Nebbiolo grapes. The yield is around 38hl/ha. A further 3 hectares are also planted with Dolcetto and 2 hectares with Barbera grapes. Freisa, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Grignolino grapes also make up a very small proportion.
These are the best wines from the Cavallotto winery
The winery processes the grapes from the winery exclusively for DOC and DOCG wines. The most popular wines include:
- Barolo
- Dolcetto d'Alba
- Barbera d 'Alba
- Langhe Nebbiolo
- Langhe Freisa
- Langhe “Grign” (Grignolino grapes)
- Langhe Chardonnay
- “Pinner” (made from Pinot Noir grapes)
